Okay so I am going to blog again. My other blogging friends are slacking!! I figured I would do a series of tributes to… dum duh da dum dum dahhhh…..Italy and Greece. Since I never really talked about my trip, the things we saw, the stuff we ate, etc. Courtney, I might throw in a little shout-out for you for food!
First of all, let me update you all on my life. I am at my lake house, which has been quite glorious. Away from Chas and all responsibilities…haha and I get to hang with my mom and stepdad (whom I haven’t seen in forever it seems like). I have been reading like a crazy person. I have almost read three books this week. I have been outside tanning, going for boat rides, running, sleeping in late, and watching t.v. Speaking of running, about a week ago I ran a new record: over six miles!! woohoo! All I know specifically is that I ran for an hour and a half. I was very excited! I am also gearing up to make the next bread in the Bread Baker’s Challenge: Anadama Bread. Oh and I have also already made plans for this extravagant birthday cake that I intend to make and decorate w/ my mom. Don’t worry I will post pictures. It involves chocolate butter-cream icing and polka dots (2 tiers!!) It should be really fun, quite the adventure. No word on the part-time job – ugh I am guessing that aren’t interested in hiring somebody for a fun weeks. Which is completely understandable.
Okay : Italy and Greece. so fun! First of all, we flew from Charlotte to Rome. There are a few stories from the planes/airports but I won’t bore you w/ those. Lets get to the good stuff. I loved Rome- one of my favorite places that we visited during this trip. I will def. be going back one day. There’s the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, gelato!, The Vatican, tons of art everywhere, the Colosseum, fake Roman soldiers, and ancient Roman ruins just to name a few. Lets look at some pics of these places and things:
I’m tossing the coin in and making a wish! The tradition is you toss one coin in – its a promise you will come back to Rome. Toss two coins in then you are wishing to marry an Italian – I tossed two coins in!! haha. This picture was very challenging for both me and Caroline – we had to take a few. People we were walking in front of us or we missed the throwing process in the pictures…the problems never ended lol. People were getting frustrated with us…I’m sure of it.
this fountain is made for two “lovers” to drink out of at the same time! It is said that if they drink out of it at the exact same time, then they will remain close and stay together forever. Let me tell you, that is some cold and good water. I def. took a little sip while I was leaning in for this picture!
